Day 17-18: iCon 2015 (Part 2, Jun 26-27)

A significant joy of attending iCon 2015 is meeting up with the larger body of Christ in the ICC family. Interesting to match the parents with their children! It is amazing to see families with 6-9 children and how siblings growing up in the Lord rather than being segregated by the secular education system!
Eunice with Noelani, Catherine & Jeannine.
With Michael Perseo - the father of Tim Perseo, the animated IMPACT student instructor.
With Cassandra and another fellow committed ICC mother.
With Hector Hernandez - a US Secret Service Agent who protects the President!

Was so glad to have Eliza selected to perform a showcase for her Persuasive Speech - Is Sadness Always Bad? Thank God for this exposure and opportunity - the experience is priceless!
Eliza - 2nd position in Persuasive and 5th place in Literary Interpretation. Eunice also did well in her Literary Interpretation - I watched her presentation and am proud of her confidence!

This is Gabriella Boyes - the first place winner of Informative Speech. She is only 12 years old but boy, did she do a great job in communicating what MBTI is all about! Amazing work!

Day 15-16: iCon 2015 (Part 1, Jun 24-25)

All packed up to move from Red Roof Inn to Regent University for the ICC Convention (iCON 2015).

All ready for our first ever iCon-2015!

Wai Bing was helping with Ballot-Admin, and I was helping Au with the Tabulation team.

With Dr John McLean - a wonderful servant of the Lord - serving us with coffee/tea and plenty of snacks throughout the day. He is such a joyful brother in the Lord!

Dr Theresa Moon, Founder/CEO of ICC with the opening remarks and reminding us of the reason for our coming together and the core values of ICC. We had an interesting exposure to all the various tournament events which took place.

The tournament started with the debates - topic - Travel Restriction Has Limited Impact on the Spread of Communicable Diseases - Morgan and Franklin eventually became the tournament debate champion! It is a good experience to watch the top 25% of the ICC speakers in action.

Day 14: Naval Museum & Regent University (Jun 23)

Typical all-American breakfast at Denny's before we head off to the Norfolk Naval Museum for a short visit before a campus visit to Regent University at 2.00pm.

Since the ICC Convention (iCon) 2015 is held at Regent Universitywe thought it was a practical idea to join in for a formal campus visit as well. Found out that CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) with their 700 Club program is actually broadcasted from this campus itself! So, the Communications department here has a practical focus indeed.

The production facilities here in Regent University is impressive - with focus on both theater and broadcasting. Both Eliza and Eunice were "drooling" because there is so much props and facilities here for filming that it is so heavenly for their own movies!

One setback is that the cafeteria is small - to make up for it, there are full kitchen facilities (including a dishwasher!) in each dorm room.
